4. It should be Personal. Incorporate elements of yourself into your home. Mix and match things you love like family photos, books, odd little collections from your childhood. Your home should be a beautiful reflection of who you are.

White is amazing for instantly brightening up a room or creating a sense of space and tranquillity. However, If not used wisely, white can easily make an area feel cold, impersonal and uninviting. Imagine you are standing in a large white hospital corridor or a white school hall. I’m sure you will feel the impulse to go grab an extra sweater. The trick when styling with white is to ensure you incorporate loads of texture. Things like wood, synthetic fur, knitted throws and rugs can make a space seem instantly warmer and more cosy. Ensure you add a combination of these and also consider incorporating subtle tones of black, grey or creams to create a bit of contrast.
